Elementary Summer School Program

  • June 22 - July 23, 2026
  • Monday - Thursdays
  • 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • Location: Mt. View Elementary


Summer School Program Overview: The 2026 Summer School program will support current 2nd through 6th grade students who are not currently meeting, or who are approaching, grade level standards in reading and/or math. This summer program will support the momentum of your child’s progress toward grade level standards in a fun and motivational setting.  

Application: Teachers from your child’s school and across the district will be providing targeted instruction in grade-level classes with extra support, along with educational games and lots of fun during summer school. We welcome applications from families for our summer programming. We have limited spaces available, so we will be reviewing applications and available data to make placement decisions. Applications are due by April 24th, 2026. Families will be notified of placement decisions by May 15th, 2026. Elementary Summer School Program Application

Transportation: Transportation for Summer School is limited. Bus routes will be created according to the most populated areas needing transportation. Please indicate the pickup and drop off addresses on your application form, this will help our transportation department create the summer bus stops and routes. Families will be contacted regarding transportation by June 12th, 2026.

Meals: Breakfast and Lunch will be provided for each Summer School Day. However, you are welcome to send your student with their own lunch.

Secondary Summer School | Credit Recovery: Grades 9–12

  • June 22 - July 23, 2026
  • Monday - Thursdays
  • 7:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
  • Location: Shelton High School

Secondary Summer School Overview: This summer Credit Recovery program is designed for students in grades 9–12 who are not currently on track for graduation. This is a critical opportunity to recover missing credits, stay on track, and move closer to earning a high school diploma. Students will receive focused support and targeted instruction to complete required coursework and build the skills needed for success in future classes.

Credit Recovery for Grades 9–12:

  • Focus Areas: English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science, and Social Studies.
  • Student Selection: School-based teams (including counselors, teachers, and administrators) will review student transcripts and prioritize those who would benefit most from summer school based on their credit needs in the four core areas.

Registration:  If your student is identified as requiring registration to get back on track toward graduation, you will be contacted by a counselor, advisor, or administrator and provided the link for registration. If you have any questions about whether or not your students is identified for Summer Program, please reach out to our Summer School Coordinator, Wendy Burr.

Secondary Summer School |Pre-Algebra

  • June 22 - July 23, 2026
  • Monday - Thursdays
  • 7:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
  • Location: Shelton High School

Secondary Summer School Overview: Your child has been identified for Summer School in Pre-Algebra. This summer course is designed for students entering 9th grade who would benefit from additional math support before starting Algebra. Students will build confidence and strengthen foundational skills in key Pre-Algebra concepts to ensure they are prepared for success in their freshman math class. Through engaging lessons and targeted support, students will develop the skills and understanding needed to start the school year strong.

Registration: If your student is identified as benefiting from pre-algebra, you will be contacted by an Oakland Bay staff member to help register your student. If you have any questions about whether or not your students is identified for Summer Program, please reach out to our Summer School Coordinator, Wendy Burr. Consistent attendance is essential for student success in this program. Because this is a fast-paced summer course designed to build critical skills before the start of the school year, students are expected to attend regularly and fully participate.
