Shelton's Kindergarten Jumpstart

Kindergarten Jumpstart

Kindergarten Jumpstart

Dates:
August 26th – 27th , 9:00 – 11:30 am

The enrollment deadline for Jumpstart is August 20th, to your home school’s main office. Enrollment forms can also be accepted at the district office in July, when school offices are closed.

Kindergarten Jumpstart:
We are inviting all entering kindergarten students to an EXCITING new opportunity to learn about kindergarten at our school! Kindergarten Jumpstart is two days of transition with kindergarten teachers and support staff, before students in other grade levels start school. This is a great opportunity for your child to learn about a kindergarten classroom, the lunchroom, where the restroom is, how to access the playground, and other basic structures and routines that support the IMPORTANT work of being a kindergarten student!

Families and Classrooms:
When you drop off your child on the first day, you are welcome to come in to see the classroom for a short visit. At 9:00, administrators will be holding an informational meeting with translation available. This will allow children to learn how to be independent in their classrooms. On the second day, we ask that you drop your child off and staff will walk them to class.

Classroom Placements:
You may provide information about your child's learning style, but we do not take specific teacher requests. Classes are formed by taking into consideration a wide variety of factors. If you would like to provide information, you can email the building principal or leave written information on the first day.

Transportation:
We are not able to provide transportation for Jumpstart. Families should plan to drop off and pick up their students.

Food:
Snack will be provided for each Jumpstart day. If your child has a food allergy, please indicate that on your enrollment form in the medical concerns section.
