Parents can obtain free developmental screening for their child in five developmental areas: communication, motor skills, adaptive/self-help skills, cognitive/concepts and social, emotional and behavioral functioning. Children with identified developmental delays or who have been medically diagnosed with a disabling condition may qualify to receive free early intervention services.
For information on obtaining a developmental screening or early intervention services for an infant or toddler, please contact South Sound Parent to Parent at (360) 352-1126.

For children age three years through five years, whose parents are concerned about their development, Shelton School District offers free Child Find developmental screening and evaluation services.
Screenings assess the five developmental areas of communication, motor skills, adaptive/self-help skills, cognitive/concepts and social, emotional and behavioral functioning.
Special Education services are provided at the Early Learning Center to eligible preschoolers age three to five who reside within the boundaries of the Shelton School District.
