A note about the priorities: while the priorities are numbered, it does not indicate a hierarchy of importance, instead, all priority areas will be worked on throughout the year.
A note about standardized tests: the Smarter Balanced Assessment is one way to understand student academic progress. While this test is not perfect, it is a common data point that is collected statewide and gives educators information to help students succeed. This test score is just one data point measured during a student’s school career and is not an indicator of a student’s success.
The Shelton School District strives to create a healthy learning environment for all and to create opportunities for young people to discover, research, and launch their own best futures. Our goal is to inspire all students to love books and grow a passion for reading. Our district’s reading libraries are crafted by educators based on state learning standards and are not intended to promote a specific political agenda.
